Fontaines D.C. announce a 2026 UK and European arena tour behind ‘Dopamine Chamber,’ closing at London’s O2 on Nov. 27
Fontaines D.C. are about to play the biggest rooms of their career, and they are doing it with a new record aimed squarely at the chaos of the modern world. The Dublin post-punk band have announced a sprawling 2026 UK and European arena tour in support of their forthcoming fifth album, Dopamine Chamber, a run that kicks off in Lisbon on October 21 and culminates in a mammoth headline show at London’s O2 Arena on November 27. It is a coronation years in the making for one of the most acclaimed guitar bands of their generation.
The routing is genuinely massive. After opening at Lisbon’s MEO Arena, Grian Chatten and company will move through Madrid, Barcelona, Bologna, and Belgrade before the European leg stretches into November with shows in Berlin, Stockholm, Oslo, Copenhagen, Amsterdam, Antwerp, and Paris. The UK leg then begins at Liverpool’s M&S Bank Arena on November 20, followed by Manchester’s AO Arena, Glasgow’s OVO Hydro, Leeds’ First Direct Arena, and Birmingham’s Utilita Arena, before the O2 finale. Notably absent are Irish dates, though the band reassured fans at home that news would follow soon.
A Record Built From the Endless Scroll
The tour exists to carry Dopamine Chamber, which arrives October 16 via XL Recordings and represents the next evolution of a band that has refused to repeat itself. According to the band, the album will encompass the news items we see in our endless scroll, including the rise of AI, celebrity gossip, political violence, the existential threat of climate change, and all the gratifying memes they spawn. “The album itself is a dopamine chamber,” Chatten said in a statement, framing the record as a mirror held up to a culture drowning in stimulation.
The band has already offered a taste. Lead single “Marianne,” accompanied by a Dave Meyers and Cam Erickson-directed video, was debuted live alongside the shadowy “Six Shot Morning” at the band’s first shows of the year. It signals a continuation of the restless creative streak that has defined Fontaines D.C. since their 2019 debut Dogrel, through 2022’s Skinty Fia and 2024’s expansive, breakout Romance. Each record has widened their sound without sanding down the bullheaded integrity that made them essential in the first place.
From Hiatus to Headliners
The arena run caps a triumphant and emotionally complicated year. Fontaines D.C. returned from a near year-long hiatus this summer, playing warm-up shows in Spain before their debut bill-topping appearances at Reading & Leeds, where they headlined alongside Charli XCX, Florence and the Machine, and Dave. That festival ascent, from buzzy support act to main-stage headliner in the span of a few years, is exactly the trajectory this tour formalizes.
It has not been without heartbreak. The band recently paid tribute following the death of their manager Trevor Dietz, whom they described as the sixth member of the band, a loss that hangs over this new chapter. That the group is pressing forward into its most ambitious touring cycle yet speaks to the resolve that has always underpinned their music, even as the sound has grown more expansive and the stages have grown larger.
For fans eager to be in the room, the logistics are straightforward. Presale begins at 10am BST on September 1, with general sale following at 10am on September 3.
