Movement Detroit 2026 full set times revealed across six stages for May 23-25 at Hart Plaza. Carl Cox, Dom Dolla, Sara Landry headline
Movement Detroit has dropped the full set times for its 2026 edition, and this year carries more weight than most. The festival runs Saturday May 23 through Monday May 25 at Hart Plaza on the Detroit riverfront, and 2026 marks the 20th anniversary of Paxahau’s stewardship of the event since taking it over in 2006. Over 115 artists are spread across six stages across three days, headlined by Carl Cox on Sunday, Dom Dolla closing the Movement Stage on Monday, and Sara Landry shutting down the main stage on Saturday night. The set times are out now. You need to start planning.
Saturday opens with a statement. Audion, the live project of Matthew Dear, opens the Movement Stage at 4pm, followed by Voices From The Lake at 5pm before Collabs3000 (Chris Liebing and Speedy J) take over from 7:30pm. 999999999 hold the 9pm slot and Sara Landry closes proceedings at 10:30pm. Over on the Waterfront Stage, Danny Brown closes at midnight following DJ Harvey, who plays 10:30pm to midnight on Sunday. The Saturday Stargate Stage runs as a Detroit Love Showcase with Carl Craig going back-to-back with Cajmere from 9:35pm to 11pm, one of the most anticipated pairings of the entire weekend. The Underground Stage on Saturday closes with Ellen Allien going back-to-back with DJ Stingray from 10:30pm to midnight.
The B2Bs, the Live Sets, and the Homegrown Heroes
The curation of back-to-backs at Movement has always said something about the festival’s intent, and 2026 is no exception. Beyond Craig and Cajmere, Sunday sees The Martinez Brothers going back-to-back with Eddie Fowlkes on the Stargate Stage from 10pm to midnight, a pairing that bridges Chicago and Detroit house with deep historical resonance. Monday evening brings Boys Noize going back-to-back with MCR-T on the Underground Stage from 8pm to 9:30pm, and DJ Tennis back-to-back with DJ BORING on the Stargate Stage from 6:30pm to 8pm.
Live sets are distributed heavily across the weekend. Dopplereffekt brings their audio-visual live show to the Waterfront Stage on Saturday at 9:20pm, a performance that has been one of the most anticipated bookings since the lineup was announced. Blawan closes the Underground Stage on Sunday at 11pm live, following a production set from Stef Mendesidis. Audion opens Saturday live, Terrence Dixon plays a four-to-six live set on Saturday’s Underground Stage, and both Borderland and Miss Bashful play live on the Saturday Movement and Waterfront stages respectively.
Detroit’s own are everywhere, as they should be. Carl Craig (also playing as 69 on Monday), Kevin Saunderson in multiple configurations (the E-DANCER project with son Dantiez on Sunday, plus KMS Records showcase and The Saunderson Brothers), DJ Godfather on Saturday Waterfront, Delano Smith and DJ Holographic opening Monday on the Movement Stage, DJ Minx closing the Pyramid Stage on Monday, and Keith Worthy closing the Detroit Stage on Monday. The Underground Music Academy (UMA) Showcase on Sunday’s Detroit Stage presents an entirely new generation of artists from the wider region.
Sunday and Monday: How to Close a Legendary Festival
Sunday builds methodically toward Carl Cox headlining the Movement Stage from 10:30pm to midnight. Before him, E-DANCER (Kevin Saunderson and Dantiez) plays 9:20pm to 10:20pm, and Eli Brown holds the slot before them. On the Pyramid Stage, ANNA plays 8pm to 10pm before Maceo Plex closes at midnight, with the full KMS Records Showcase running from 2pm. Sunday’s Waterfront Stage closes with Barry Can’t Swim at midnight.
Monday, the Memorial Day closer, is historically when Movement goes hardest. Dom Dolla closes the Movement Stage from 9:30pm to 11pm, with Green Velvet and Carl Craig (as 69) before him. Overmono, whose new album drops this summer, play the Waterfront Stage from 10pm to 11pm. KI/KI closes the Underground Stage from 9:30pm to 11pm. The Ritual with Anané and Louie Vega closes the Pyramid Stage House Your Life showcase, with DJ Minx following. Keith Worthy closes the Detroit Stage.
“Movement is one of my favorite festivals,” Dom Dolla said when the lineup was announced. “The history, the scope of performers and range of people coming together from multiple generations and backgrounds make it one of the most meaningful events to play.” Sara Landry put it differently: “The energy in this city is undeniable. I’m always thrilled to come back to the birthplace of techno.” Movement Detroit 2026 takes place May 23 to 25 at Hart Plaza. The full set times are below.
