Dua Lipa calls her wedding to Callum Turner “magical” in Vogue Italia, sharing the two pieces of advice they followed
Dua Lipa is finally pulling back the curtain on one of the year’s most talked-about celebrity weddings. In a new cover interview with Vogue Italia, the pop superstar described her marriage to actor Callum Turner as “magical” and revealed the two pieces of advice that shaped the day. It is the first time Lipa, who has fiercely guarded the details, has spoken at length about the celebration, and it doubles as a window into how love is reshaping both her life and her music.
The couple’s approach was refreshingly simple. “The day of the wedding was magical,” Lipa, 31, told the magazine. “We received a lot of advice but decided to follow just two: live the day as if we were guests too, and to constantly look for each other among the crowd without ever losing sight of each other.” The result, she said, is a wealth of shared memories. “This way we really have a lot of memories together.”
A Two-Part Wedding, From London to Sicily
The nuptials themselves unfolded in two acts. Lipa and Turner first tied the knot in a small civil ceremony at London’s Old Marylebone Town Hall on May 30, before decamping for a lavish three-day second celebration in Palermo, Sicily. The couple then travelled through Italy for their honeymoon, with Lipa documenting select stops for fans on Instagram, including snapshots from Sicily, the Amalfi Coast, and Rome.
Turner, 36, has been just as effusive about the day. The Masters of the Air and The Capture star recently called their wedding “the most beautiful day of my life” in an interview with Esquire UK, recounting how strangers stopped to congratulate the pair in the park the day after. The English actor, whom Lipa first began dating in early 2024, has also spoken about wanting to start a family, listing “family” among his priorities for the decade ahead. For Lipa, the partnership has clarified her sense of balance. “I feel at home wherever Callum is,” she said.
When Happiness Rewrites the Songs
For an artist whose catalog is built on heartbreak and yearning, finding lasting love presents a fascinating creative challenge, and Lipa is leaning into it. She told Vogue Italia she now wants to explore “what happens when you truly find love” in her songwriting. “Talking about being heartbroken is a very common thing,” she said. “When I was younger, I found much more inspiration in the search and desire.” The next chapter, in other words, may sound different from the one that made her a star.
That evolution mirrors a broader loosening in how Lipa approaches her work. She admitted her “perfectionist” days are behind her, a shift she tested on her Radical Optimism world tour by singing in the local language of nearly every city she played, including a memorable cover of Raffaella Carrà’s “A Far l’Amore Comincia Tu” in Milan. The tour, which included her first headline show at London’s Wembley Arena, capped an era that began with 2024’s chart-topping Radical Optimism and a headline set at Glastonbury.
Even her relationship with social media has mellowed. The self-described vacation queen confessed to occasional “posting anxiety” when she goes quiet, but said she has learned to let go. “I just pick the photos I like best and post them without overthinking it. I hit publish, close the app and forget about it.” It is a small admission, but a telling one. After a decade of global fame, three Grammys, and a stack of Brit Awards, Lipa sounds like an artist settling into contentment, on the biggest day of her personal life and everywhere after it. Her Vogue Italia cover story is out now.
