Benny Blanco enlists wife Selena Gomez and Becky G for ‘Te Olvidé (La La),’ out July 31, the latest preview of his Spanish-language album ‘Hermoso’
Benny Blanco has spent his career making other people’s hits, and lately he has been making them with his wife. The super-producer announced this week that his next single, “Te Olvidé (La La),” arrives Friday (July 31), and it once again pairs him with Selena Gomez, this time alongside Latin star Becky G. Blanco teased the track on social media on Monday with a characteristically goofy caption, writing, “POV: ur new song with wifey and becky drops in a few days but ur the only one in the world who has the mp3,” attaching a clip of the song.
The title is a nod to the record’s language and mood. “Te Olvidé” translates literally as “I forgot you,” though in practice it carries the sense of “I’m over you,” the kind of clean-break declaration that has anchored breakup songs in any language. It is also the clearest signal yet of where Blanco is heading next: the single previews Hermoso, his Spanish-language album due August 14. The title means “handsome,” and the project marks a notable swerve for a producer whose biggest credits, with Ed Sheeran, Rihanna, Katy Perry, and SZA, have lived squarely in English-language pop.
A Marriage That Doubles as a Hit Factory
The Gomez collaboration is the through-line of Blanco’s recent output, and the couple have turned their relationship into one of pop’s more productive partnerships. The two began dating in 2023, got engaged in December 2024, and have since married, and in March 2025 they released a full joint album, I Said I Love You First, via SMG Music, Friends Keep Secrets, and Interscope.
That record earned the highest first-week sales of either artist’s career and spun off singles including “Scared of Loving You,” “Sunset Blvd,” and the prom-themed “Talk,” before expanding into a deluxe edition, I Said I Love You First…And You Said It Back, with guests from GloRilla to Gracie Abrams. Bringing Becky G into the fold makes sense for a Spanish-language single. The California-born, Mexican-American singer and rapper is one of the most bankable crossover names in Latin pop, and her presence gives “Te Olvidé” bilingual reach that a Gomez-Blanco duet alone would not.
Gomez, whose own heritage is Mexican-American, has increasingly leaned into Spanish-language work, from her 2021 EP Revelación to her Oscar-nominated turn in Emilia Pérez, making this less a novelty than a natural extension.
Two Careers Running in Parallel
The single lands during a busy stretch for both halves of the couple. For Blanco, “Te Olvidé” is one more piece of a deliberate rollout toward Hermoso, a full-length reintroduction of a hitmaker stepping out from behind the boards in a new language. For Gomez, the guest spot slots in beside a slate of non-music ventures: this week she also announced Rare Beginnings, a new fragrance from her Rare Beauty cosmetics line, framing it on Instagram as a scent that “captures the feeling of possibility and the beauty of what’s ahead.” The fragrance hits the Sephora app August 6 and stores August 7.
That balance, music with her husband on one side and an ever-expanding beauty empire on the other, is the shape Gomez’s career has taken since she began teasing that she might step back from recording. “Te Olvidé (La La)” suggests the stepping back is more like stepping sideways. She keeps turning up on the songs that matter to the people closest to her, and this time the person is her husband, singing in Spanish, with one of Latin pop’s biggest names along for the ride.
